May 2025 Peak Strength Update

We’re bringing more athletes into Peak Strength! There were some sports we didn’t have training plans for yet. Now they’re here!

With May’s app update, we are introducing 5 new training plans and adding new cycles for competition sports.

As your goals evolve and you grow as an athlete, we want to be there for you, regardless of how you want to train.

5 New Training Plans

new programs

Newly added to Peak Strength are 5 training plans, including:

  • Bodybuilding: A high-volume training plan that has a deep emphasis on hypertrophy and strength.

  • Super Total: A training plan specifically meant to build your squat, bench, deadlift, snatch, and clean and jerk.

  • Highland Games: A strength program for the Scottish strength sport of Highland Games to build absolute strength and explosiveness.

  • Athletic Fitness Time Crunch: An efficient program that balances all aspects of training so you can make the most out of your time in the gym.

  • Table Tennis: A training plan for table tennis athletes that focuses on endurance and fast-twitch physical adaptations.

New Cycles For Competition Sports

competition cycle changes

Just like any other sport, competition sports like Olympic weightlifting, combat sports, and powerlifting need various cycles to maximize performance come game time.

With the addition of two new cycles, our competition sport athletes will get even better long-term programming.

  • Off-Season Cycle: Higher volume phases that are meant to push athletes to build the most muscle and strength for their sport.

  • Competition Prep Cycle: A proper peaking/taper cycle with reduced volume and increased intensity to maximize strength for a competition date.

Bug Fixes

Additionally, there were some bug fixes that have been pushed out as part of May’s update:

  • Corrected Weight Recommendation Caching: An issue was fixed where sets, reps, and weights that were manually adjusted inside the app were reverted to default if the app was exited.
  • Fixed Available Training Days: An issue where athletes were able to select more training days than what was allowed in their current training plan.
  • Improved Removing Started Workouts: Athletes may now remove started workouts from their daily schedule as long as no sets have been completed.
