April 2025 Peak Strength Update

You’ve earned a bonus! Bonus workouts are finally in Peak Strength for EXTRA gains.

A flexible, but structured workout schedule is crucial to maintaining consistency in the gym. Some weeks you need extra work, and that’s what April’s Peak Strength update allows you to have.

This means releasing one of the most requested features so far!

Introducing Bonus Workouts

You asked. We listened. You wanted more control. We’re giving you the reins. We are happy to officially announce bonus workouts in Peak Strength.

Your training plan is already created to give the best workouts to achieve your goals. However, we know life can be unpredictable and everyone has different preferences for the type of training they like to do.

You now have three areas where you can add workouts from:

  • “For you” Section: Suggested workouts that are part of the training plan that aren't currently on your calendar due to choosing fewer than the maximum training days, or missed workouts. Additionally, removed workouts will be displayed in this section as well

  • Full Bonus Workouts: Full workouts that are available no matter what training plan you are on

  • Add-ons: Short sections of workouts that can be an addition to any normal workout.

When to Do Bonus Workouts

I’m sure you’re already thinking about where these workouts will fit into your schedule, but here are some more ideas:

  • You want to get an extra workout this week or need a good finisher.

  • You want to swap out your workout with a different focus (like hypertrophy or cardio).

  • You want to perform specific mobility or prehab on a problem area of your body.

  • Your normal routine is broken up by travel or a short schedule (use Time crunch, Bodyweight, or Hotel Gym workouts).

Starting now, these are bonus workout types you will have access to:

  • Top Picks: Our most popular workouts in the app that now anyone can do.
  • Time Crunch: Workouts for people who have very limited time to train.
  • Bodyweight: Workouts for when you don’t have any equipment.
  • Hotel Gym: Workouts for when you’re traveling with minimal equipment
  • Speed & Agility: Short workouts to develop speed and explosiveness.
  • Cardio: Now every program can include cardio work.
  • Testing: To test your baseline at any point in the training cycle.

Additional add-ons include:

  • Finishers: Quick additions to your workout for a HUGE pump.
  • Mobility: Extra recovery workouts for when you’re feeling sore.
  • Prehab: Warm up certain areas of your body before a workout.
  • Technical Progressions: Standardized progressions for advanced lifts like the snatch, clean, and jerk.

Scheduling Flexibility + Training Split Improvements

Now if you need less work, you can now remove workouts directly from your weekly dashboard.

Workouts that are removed from your weekly schedule will be able to be accessed and added back into your program as needed through the “Add Workout” library.

Additionally, Peak Strength is improving your weekly layout to fit more common workout splits.

Your first day of training for the week will now be at the start of the calendar week. This improvement helps all athletes using Peak Strength stay true to Garage Strength’s training system as well as improve the timing of intensity throughout the week.

Additional Bug Fixes

April’s update comes with a nice list of bug fixes that will improve overall usability:

  • Season Date Correction: A bug that chose the wrong cycle when skipping the regular season end date selection was fixed.
  • Cardio Distance Labels Fix: A bug that incorrectly displayed miles and kilometers instead of yards and meters for some cardio exercises was fixed.
